Formed in 2018 Cumbernauld Musical Theatre Society is a registered Scottish charity dedicated to bringing musical theatre to the wider local community.
In our short existance, we have presented concerts and full productions that along the way have attracted a reputation for tackling both well loved classics and ambitious re-imagined stagings with our past productions including Little Shop of Horrors, Sunshine on Leith, Titanic and Into the Woods to name a few.
We have a passionate and growing membership and look forward to bringing our stories to the stage for the forseeable future.

"If I had any talent in the slightest for singing (I don't) then Cumbernauld Musical Theatre Society would be the group I would aspire to join. They are the gold-standard for amateur dramatic groups as far as I'm concerned. Every show is impeccably produced and performed, and 'Into the Woods' is no different"

The most iconic Scottish jukebox musical featuring the music of the Proclaimers sold out six performances before opening night with demand that could have sold six more. Telling the story of two soldiers returning home from Afghanistan it was our first performance in the new Cumbernauld Theatre at The Lanternhouse.

Performed at the Sir John Wilson Town Hall in Airdrie, the production featured a 20 strong orchestra that delivered the most stunning score with what one audience member described as the greatest singing she had heard in any UK theatre.

Cumbernauld Musical Theatre Society (SCIO) is a Scottish Charity, registered as a Scottish Incorporated Organisation (SC048925) and is fully affiliated to The National Operatic and Dramatic Association (NODA).
